Teen Leadership Focus Conference Announced September 28, 2010

Join Brunswick County 4-H teens on the Leadership Focus Conference!

Due to the anticipated low registration numbers for State Council Conference, the State 4-H office has cancelled the event, which was originally scheduled to be held November 20 & 21 in Greensboro. Instead of a state wide State Council conference, they will be holding three regional Teen Leadership Focus Conferences. These retreats will be held at 4-H Camps and will be on Saturday only. Each retreat will begin with registration at 8am and workshops at 9:30am. These retreats are designed for teens, so 4-H’ers ages 13 and older are invited to attend.

The Northeast & Southeast districts will meet on December 11, 2010 at the 4-H Eastern Center in Columbia.  The cost to attend each Teen Leadership Focus Conferences is $55. Due to the fact that we are staying at the Eastern Center, Brunswick County will be leaving the day before at 4pm.  There is an additional cost of $25 to help cover lodging and dinner that evening, so the total will be $80.

Registration & money is due to the Brunswick County 4-H office by October 22nd.  In addition we are asking the each person (youth and adult) who attends a Teen Leadership Focus Conference to bring a can of food with him or her. This food will be donated to the local food bank and will help support North Carolina 4-H’s Hungry To Help initiative.
