It’s that time of year again when the weather starts getting cooler and we head to the 4-H office for some fun winter workshops. We have three fun workshops planned in November and December, but space is very limited so don’t delay in signing up! Call the 4-H office at 910-253-2610 to register. Pre-registration is mandatory!
Gingerbread Times Two
Friday, November 12, 1 PM
This workshop focuses on beginning hand sewing skills, namely sewing on buttons and blanket stitch. Participants will make a felt gingerbread ornament, practicing their hand sewing skills. Additionally, we’ll make some gingerbread cookies.
Cost is $2.00 for this workshop led by Jane Kulesza and Trisha Apple.
Limit: 10 participants.
Sweet Holiday Dreams
Monday, December 20; 9 AM or 1 PM (two sessions)
Wake up Christmas morning on a pillowcase you made yourself! Participants in this sewing workshop will make a fun pillowcase from several coordinating fabrics which will be provided. This is a good beginner project to help master straight stitch sewing and zigzag seam finishing. The cost is $4 per person. Trisha Apple and Jane Kulesza will lead students through the project.
Limit: 6 participants per session.
Moravian Sugarcake Workshop
Wednesday, December 22, 1 PM
Miss Jane’s Sugarcake Workshop has become a Brunswick County 4-H tradition! Make a delicious sugarcake and learn about the history of the Moravians in North Carolina. Participants will also make a Christmas ornament while the dough is rising.
Cost is $5 which covers a Sugarcake that participants can bring home with them.
Enrollment is limited for this popular workshop so be sure to register early.
