Spots Still Available for 4-H Summer Fun June 18, 2010

Still haven’t signed your child up for any camps this summer? No worries, there are still a few spots available for several of our Summer Fun Day Camps! Many of these camps only have 2-4 spots available, so don’t delay! To register your child, you must submit the 4-H Enrollment Form, Medical Release Form, and Summer Fun Registration Form along with a $15 Registration Fee and payment for camps.

 

Camps for 5-8 Year Olds

ALL FULL

Camps for 9-12 Year Olds

Explore Performing Arts – Join us for a 2 day camp to learn about dance, vocals, and theatre from local professionals.
Chicken or the Egg? – Come watch baby chicks hatch from an incubator and explore chickens and eggs.
Bleeaatt! Moo! Baa! (NCSU Trip) – Tour the farms at NC State University, Farmer’s Market, and eat ice cream from the NCSU creamery.
Cowabunga – Learn about dairy and beef cattle. Make butter the old fashioned way and tour a local cattle farm.
Insect Invasion – Learn about agriculture and insects through hands-on experiments.
Nifty Thrifty – Fun day of crafts with beads and make your own doll.
Jr. Master Gardener – Sprouts – Learn how to grow your own garden by getting down and dirty with hands-on learning.
Wiggles and Wildlife – Check out what lives in our ponds and what wildlife lurks in the woods around us.
Eco-Wonders – Explore the wonders of our natural world.
Explore Envirothon – If you like being outside and learning about water, forestry, soils, and wildlife then this camp is for you.
Memory Makers – Learn how to use a camcorder to make short videos and get great tips for taking beautiful photographs.
You’re the Chef – Do you know what’s healthy and what’s not? Come find out how to make fun, healthy snacks.
First Aid, Fitness and H2O – Learn about first aid, sweat it out with some fitness exercises, and end it all with a dip in the pool.

Camps for 13-19 Year Olds

Climbing Challenge – Climb the high ropes course at UNC-W. Test your limits and you’ll surprise yourself at what you can accomplish! Assumption of Risk Form and Medical Information Form

Bleeaatt! Moo! Baa! (NCSU Trip) – Tour the farms at NC State University, Farmer’s Market, and eat ice cream from the NCSU creamery.
Vet Science Explorations – Learn about how to care for your pets and about the veterinary science field by visiting River Road Animal Hospital.
Aquarium Explorations – See the aquarium like you never have before with a behind the scenes tour.
Recycled Arts and Crafts – Use recycled materials to create arts and crafts.
Jr. Master Gardener – Thistles – Learn about how to care for a garden, grow beautiful flowers and vegetables.
Explore Envirothon (9-15 year olds) – If you like being outside and learning about water, forestry, soils, and wildlife then this camp is for you.
Surf Camp – Take a group lesson from Indo-Jax Surf Camp. Lesson includes surf board rental and instruction from professionals. Required Wavier

Health Rocks! – Explore weight and fitness and how it affects our lives. Learn about healthy eating habits, body care, and fun exercises.
