4-H volunteer Jane Kulesza led a workshop to introduce the basics of sewing to 4-Hers. The participants made mini purses from a Utah State University Cooperative Extension sewing project. Skills developed from the beginner level project were pivoting corners, turning right side out, top stitching, as well as decision making.
Participants were Alexis Apple, Amelia Apple, Autumn Apple, Zoe Blake, Lydia Lewis, Abbi Melcher, and Hannah Teeters.
A three day sewing workshop will be offered April 7th-9th at the Brunswick County Cooperative Extension Office. The workshop will be taught by 4-H volunteers and is open to any youth ages 5-19 interested in sewing.
