In concurrence with National 4-H Week, Brunswick County 4-Hers participated in a community service project called “Reading Makes the Best Better.”  Four-H members visited kindergarten classes at Bolivia Elementary to read story books to them and tell them about 4-H.  The goal of the program is to help spread the word about 4-H and give youth an opportunity to be a good influence to younger kids and improve public speaking skills.   Participating in “Reading Makes the Best Better” this year were Samantha Lawrence, 14, daughter of John and Angie Lawrence of Oak Island, Hannah Teeters, 9, daughter of John and Mary Teeters of Shallotte, and Amber Yurgel, 12, daughter of Peter and Marie Yurgel  of Delco.
