North Carolina 4-H Centennial Proclamation January 27, 2009

On Monday January 26th, 2009 4-Hers from Brunswick County attended the County Commissioner’s Meeting to be present as the Commissioners recognized “the members, faculty, and volunteer leaders of North Carolina 4-H and Brunswick County 4-H as they continue the 100 year-old tradition of 4-H youth development. Today we commemorate the Centennial birthday of North Carolina 4-H and urge the young people of this county to take advantage of the opportunity to become involved in the 4-H program,” said Commissioner Phil Norris.

Dorothy Conley, 4-H Council Vice President; Perry Grosch, 4-H Council Secretary-Treasurer and Centennial Committee member; and Elizabeth Mintz, 4-H Council member and Centennial Committee Co-Chair were all in attendance.  Each spoke to the commissioners about their involvement in 4-H and about our Centennial Celebration plans for the year.

Also representing Brunswick County 4-H were Al Hight, County Director; Blair Green, 4-H Agent; Leslie Wilson, 4-H Program Assistant; Gina Britton, 4-H Secretary; and Jane Kulezsa, 4-H parent and Extension Advisory Council member.

Elizabeth talks about the county’s plans for Centennial events.

Perry also speaks about other planned Centennial activities.
