Miss Jane Kulesza’s Sugarcake Workshop has become a Brunswick County 4-H tradition! 4-H members made delicious sugarcakes and learned about the history of the Moravians in North Carolina. Participants also made a Christmas ornament when the dough was rising with help from 4-H alum, Perry Grosch.

Last Monday twelve 4-Hers met with long-time 4-H volunteers Jane Kulesza and Trisha Apple at the Brunswick County Extension office to take part in the Sweet Dreams Workshop. Participants assembled beautiful fleece pillow cases as they mastered straight stitch sewing and zigzag seam finishing. The 4-H sewing curriculum for this project can be downloaded by clicking here.

Wayne County 4-H is happy to offer an opportunity for youth in 6th grade and up to participate in their District Leadership Retreat January 15-17 at Black Mountain, NC. We will be Snow Tubing this year in addition to some fun workshops. The cost will be $100 which includes lodging, snow tubing (not skiing or snowboarding), transportation and all meals. Transportation will be provided from the Extension Office in Bolivia. Space is limited so please reserve your spot as soon as possible but no later than January4th! Payment must be received before your spot is reserved.
